06/01 @ Turino /Italy - wandering city center and view from Mole Antinelliana

Stazione di Milano Centrale (Milan Central Railway Station)

Architect Ulisse Stacchini, inspired by Union station in Washington D.C.
Construction began in 1912 and completed in 1931.
It is approximately 350 meters long (3times of football field)

Although Italian economy is falling and recorded one of the lowest GDP growth rate in Europe,
some constructions are still proceeding.  Took this photo on the train.

Very first view of Turin from station exit..

Po, a river that across the Turin,
which cuts through whole Northern Italy, from the East of Italy up to Alpes
This is like a lifeline of Northern Italy's prosperity.
Turin's biggest park (Parco del Valentino) is located on right handed.

Santa Maria del Monte on the left.
Mountain museums also located next to it

Unnecessarily beautiful facades of pharmacy.

This kind of remains on building facade is very common in Italy.

WASPs

Very good example of building material reuse
Or maybe there are strong city codes for conservation of historical parts.

Piazza Castello

Palazzo Madama

Chiesa di San Lorenzo

Back side of Palazzo Madama

Giuseppe Verdi St.

Mole Antonelliana
the tallest museum in the world as well as functions as view point,
built in the end of 19th century.

Flee market in front of museum and is one the major tourists attraction.

Piazza Vitorio Venito
Many resturants and bars are located.  At the bars in Italy,
you can have an alcohol for 8 Euros with several deserts.

Having dinner with other travelers at Piazza Vitorio Venito, with beautiful sunset.
I should have some closed up picture of the clouds,
I reminded of the movie 'Vanilla Sky'
